On a handful of occasions over the past few seasons, some of our members have asked about insurance for referees.
When appointed to a fixture by the society you are covered by the RFU insurance for Referees and Match Officials – full details are available here:

If you are approached by a club to officiate in a fixture (e.g. last minute), please check/clear with the society – either the appointments manager OR the honorary secretary will be able to help.
Finally: If you are ever approached by any legal representatives following a fixture, please inform the society AND direct their enquiry to the society as soon as possible (please do not provide any details or answer any questions). We will then pass on these details to the relevant expert parties at the RFU who will take the lead if required.
